According to ABL statistics, the value of cleared checks fell by 3.77% on an annual basis to LBP 39,890 billion (distributed over 3,041,067 checks) in the first half of 2020, in comparison with LBP 41,453 billion (allocated over 5,061,968 checks) a year earlier. Of the total value of cleared checks, 64.05% was denominated in foreign currency, versus 62.49% a year before. Concurrently, the value of returned checks fell by LBP 200 billion (18.94%) y-o-y to LBP 856 billion by June 2020, with the number of returned checks plunging by 39.02% to 79,671.
As a result, the number of returned checks expressed as a percentage of the total number of cleared checks rose to 2.62% by end of June 2020, up from 2.58% a year earlier. On the other hand, the value of returned checks calculated, as a percentage of the total cleared checks value dropped to 2.15%, down from 2.55% during the first half of 2019.

في هذا الإطار، إرتفعت حصّة الشيكات المرتجعة من إجمالي عدد الشيكات المتقاصّة إلى 2.62% خلال النصف الأوّل من العام 2020، مقابل 2.58% في الفترة الموازية من العام السابق في حين إنخفضت قيمة الشيكات المرتجعة إلى 2.15% من إجمالي قيمة الشيكات المتقاصّة، مقارنةً ب2.55% في نهاية شهر حزيران 2019.
