The Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) issued a press release on October 16 in which it confirmed to all bank customers that banks will continue to provide the market with cash in LBP to maintain stability. Said decision came after the Central Bank affirmed that it will continue to provide banks with LBP liquidity. The ABL added that LBP liquidity secured by banks and BDL is not strictly limited to cash. In this vein, the press release called citizens to use different payment channels such as credit cards, checks, and bank transfers.
أصدرت جمعيّة المصارف في لبنان بيان صحافي بتاريخ 16 تشرين الأوّل 2020 أكّدت من خلاله لجميع العملاء أنّ المصارف اللبنانيّة سوف تواصل تأمين السيولة النقدية بالليرة اللبنانية للسوق من أجل الحفاظ على الإستقرار في الأسواق. أتى هذا القرار بعد تأكيد مصرف لبنان إستمراره في إمداد المصارف بالسيولة النقدية كالمعتاد. كما وأكّدت الجمعيّة أنّ السيولة بالليرة اللبنانيّة المؤمّنة من مصرف لبنان والمصارف ليست محصورة فقط بالسيولة النقديّة. ومن هذا المنطلق، دعا البيان الصحفي المواطنين إلى إستعمال وسائل الدفع الأخرى كبطاقات الإئتمان والشيكات والتحاويل المصرفيّة.
