Lebanon’s Minister of Finance Mr. Youssef al Khalil inked a forensic audit agreement with global consultancy firm Alvarez and Marsal to conduct an audit on BDL. As per the Minister of Finance, the company should be submitting its finding to the Lebanese government 12 weeks after starting its work. It is worth noting, in this regard, that international donors, stressed on the importance of conducting such an audit, among other requirements, to unlock funds geared towards Lebanon.
وقّع وزير الماليّة السيّد يوسف الخليل عقد التدقيق الجنائي مع شركة الإستشارات الدوليّة ألفاريز أند مارسال بهدف إجراء الشركة تدقيقاً في حسابات مصرف لبنان. بحسب وزير الماليّة، فإنّه من المفترض أن تقدّم الشركة تقريراً إلى الحكومة بعد 12 أسبوعاً من بداية أعمالها. ويجدر الذكر بأنّ التدقيق الجنائي هو أحد البنود الإصلاحيّة التي يشترطها المانحين الدوليين قبل الإفراج عن مساعدات إلى لبنان.
