According to a statement by the Lebanese presidency, global consultancy firm Alvarez & Marsal will resume its audit on Banque du Liban, bearing in mind that the company had terminated the previous contract in November 2020 over lack of data. It is worth noting, in this regard, that international donors, stressed on the importance of conducting such the forensic audit, among other requirements, to unlock funds geared towards Lebanon. Finally, and as previously stated by the Finance Minister, Alvarez & Marsal should be submitting a report to the government 12 weeks after starting its work.
بحسب بيان لرئاسة الجمهوريّة اللبنانيّة، فإنّ شركة الإستشارات الدوليّة ألفاريز أند مارسال ستستأنف التدقيق الجنائي في حسابات مصرف لبنان، علماً بأنّ الشركة كانت قد أنهت العقد السابق في شهر تشرين الثاني 2020 بسبب نقص في المعلومات. ويجدر الذكر بأنّ التدقيق الجنائي هو أحد البنود الإصلاحيّة التي يشترطها المانحون الدوليون قبل الإفراج عن أي مساعدات إلى لبنان. أخيراً، وبحسب تصريح سابق لوزير الماليّة، فإنّه من المفترض أن تقدّم الشركة تقريراً إلى الحكومة بعد 12 أسبوعاً من بداية أعمالها.
