All monetary aggregates ended the week of January 6, 2022 on a positive note. The overall money supply, “M4”, rose by LBP 335.76 billion on a weekly basis and by 1.34% on an annual basis to LBP 214,605 billion, noting that the non-banking sector’s Treasury bills portfolio increased by LBP 46 billion during the concerned week.

In parallel, Lebanese-Pound denominated deposits and currency in circulation, “M1”, widened by LBP 562.57 million week-on-week to LBP 58,050 billion on the back of some LBP 330 billion expansion in currency in circulation, coupled with the LBP 233 billion increase in demand deposits. Local currency term deposits, “M2”, also rose by LBP 478.51 billion on a weekly basis and by 16.73% year-on-year to settle at LBP 79,208 billion.

Consequently, private sector term and saving deposits denominated in LBP (“M2-M1”) receded by LBP 84.05 billion (0.40%) to LBP 21,158 billion during the week of January 6, with deposits denominated in foreign currencies (“M3-M2”) sinking by LBP 189.22 billion (0.16%) to LBP 121,252 billion.

بالتوازي، إرتفعت الكتلة النقديّة "م1"، والتي تشمل السيولة الجاهزة بالليرة اللبنانيّة، ب562.57 مليار ل.ل. على أساسٍ أسبوعيٍّ إلى 58،050 مليار ل.ل.، وذلك بفعل زيادة حجم النقد المتداول ب330 مليار ل.ل.، ترافقاً مع إرتفاع حجم الودائع تحت الطلب ب233 مليار ل.ل. وقد زادت الكتلة النقديّة بالليرة اللبنانيّة، "م2"، ب478.51 مليار ل.ل. وبنسبة 16.73% سنويّاً لتصل إلى 79،208 مليار ل.ل.

في هذا الإطار، تدنّى حجم الإدّخار بالعملة الوطنيّة (م2-م1) ب84.05 مليار ل.ل. (0.40%) إلى 21،158 مليار ل.ل. في الأسبوع المنتهي في 6 كانون الثاني، كما وتراجع رصيد الودائع المعنونة بالعملات الأجنبيّة (م3-م2) ب189.22 مليار ل.ل. (0.16%) إلى 121،252مليار ل.ل.
