The transportation allowance for private sector employees has been increased from LBP 250,000 per day to LBP 450,000 per day (around $5 according to the prevailing exchange rate), after an agreement has been reached between the economic bodies (represented by Mr. Mohammad Choucair) and the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers, headed by Mr. Bechara al-Asmar. Accordingly, the transportation allowance for private sector employees will now be on par with that of the public sector, which was previously adjusted in April 2023.
