Beirut Port freight activity ebbed slightly to around 560.6 thousand tons during the month of September 2025, down from 568.7 thousand tons in the previous month. On a cumulative basis, however, freight activity rose by a robust 16.24% y-o-y during the first nine months of 2025 to 4,772 thousand tons up from 4,105 thousand tons a year earlier. The number of vessels, however, dropped by 7.98% year-on-year to 1,050 in comparison with 1,141 in the same period in 2024, while the number of imported cars increased by 61.01% to 51,215 cars. In a related context, the Beirut port handled containers with a total cargo capacity of around 663.48 thousand TEUs (including transshipments) in comparison with a smaller cargo capacity of 575.42 thousand TEUs a year earlier.
