Lebanon recently signed aid agreements worth some €55 million with the European Union (EU), noting that these agreements come part of a larger €132 million aid package. In details, €30 million will be geared towards enhancing safety, security and stability in Lebanon via bolstering the capacity of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) to combat organized crime, cybercrime and money laundering. The remaining €25 million will be earmarked towards improving border security via integrating the management of land borders and the airport, as well as improve governance, safety, and security in the maritime domain. Finally, it is worth noting that the remaining aid amounts that are part of the €132 million package are expected to be inked in the upcoming days.
وقّع لبنان مؤخراً إتفاقيات مساعدات مع الإتّحاد الأوروبي بقيمة 55 مليون يورو، علماً بأن هذه الإتفاقيات هي جزء من حزمة مساعدات أكبر بقيمة 132 مليون يورو. بالتفاصيل، تخصّص هذه الإتّفاقيات مبلغ 30 مليون يورو لتعزيز الأمن والإستقرار في لبنان من خلال دعم قدرات قوى الأمن الداخلي لمكافحة الجريمة المنظّمة والجرائم الإلكترونية وغسل الأموال. كما سيخصّص مبلغ 25 مليون يورو لتحسين الأمن الحدودي عبر دمج إدارة الحدود البريّة والمطار، فضلاً عن تحسين الحوكمة والأمن في المجال البحري. ومن المزمع توقيع الإتفاقيات المتبقيّة من حزمة المساعدات البالغة 132 مليون يورو خلال الأيام القادمة.
