According to the statistics published by the Automobile Importers Association (AIA), the number of newly registered cars stood at 1,141 cars in February 2026, compared to 1,166 cars a month earlier and 1,312 cars in December, only to name a few. The monthly evolution in the number of new car registrations over the past 12 months depicts a rollercoaster trend as illustrated in the chart below:
On a cumulative basis, new car registrations posted an annual increase of 45.74% from 1,583 cars by end of February 2025, buoyed by an improvement in the political and security environment (prior to the recent escalation of the conflict locally and in the region) coupled with the implementation of some reforms at the Traffic and Management Authority (TMO) level. These figures, however, are still dwarfed by the 3,744 level registered during the first two months of 2019.
إستناداً إلى إحصاءات جمعيّة مستوردي السيّارات، وصل عدد السيّارات الجديدة المسجّلة في لبنان إلى 1،141 سيّارة في شهر شباط 2026 مقارنةً مع 1،166 سيّارة في الشهر الذي سبقه و1،312 سيّارة في شهر كانون الأول 2025 للذكر لا الحصر. يبيّن التطوّر الشهري في حركة تسجيل السيّارات خلال الفترة الممتدّة بين شباط 2025 وشباط 2026 تقلّبات كبيرة كما هو مبيّن في البيان التالي:
على صعيد تراكمي، زاد عدد السيّارات الجديدة المسجّلة بنسبة سنويّة بلغت 45.74% عند مقارنته بالمستوى المسجّل في الشهرين الأوّلين من العام 2025 والبالغ 1،583 سيّارة وذلك نتيجة التحسّن في المشهدين السياسي والأمني (قبل إندلاع الحرب الأخيرة في لبنان وفي المنطقة) كما وتطبيق بعض الإصلاحات في مصلحة تسجيل السيّارات. إلّا إنّ هذه الأرقام تبقى خجولة مقارنةً بمستوى ال3،744 سيّارة جديدة المسجّلة في الشهرين الأوّلين من العام 2019.
