CMA CGM Group, the third largest shipping company in the world, chaired by French-Lebanese businessman Mr. Rodolphe Saade, announced in a press release on April 14, 2026 that it entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of Fattal Group, one of the largest distributors of famous brands in the MENA region. CMA CGM noted that the completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026. In addition, the managing director of CMA CGM in Lebanon and the Levant Mr. Joe Dakkak revealed that negotiations to acquire Fattal Group started in September 2025 yet the agreement was signed a week ago, commenting that the value of the transaction cannot be disclosed as it remains confidential. Mr. Rodolphe Saade highlighted that the acquisition is an important milestone in CMA CGM’s ambition to become a global leader of end-to-end logistics. He also added that by incorporating Fattal’s robust distribution platform, CMA CGM will be able to expand its capabilities closer to end markets and consumers. Mr. Saade stated as well that by taking advantage of the synergies from this acquisition will enable the combined entities to drive growth and expand their presence in the rapidly growing MENA markets.

It is worth noting that the CMA CGM Group is a global player present in 177 countries and employs some 160,000 individuals, serving with its large fleet of more than 700 vessels over 420 ports across five continents.

As for Fattal Group, it operates in eight countries and specializes in warehousing as well as promoting and distributing products and services to customers, professionals, and direct customers.
