Cement deliveries, the coincident indicator of construction activity, fell by 0.78% during the month of May 2026 to 115,789 tons, down from 116,698 tons a month earlier. Similarly, and on an annual basis, cement deliveries decreased by 37.34% to 718,488 tons as at the end of the first five months of 2026, in comparison with 1,146,659 tons in the same period in 2025. The sizeable drop in cement deliveries in 2026 owes to the turmoil that resulted from the Israeli aggression on Lebanon since the month of March.
Cement deliveries registered a negative compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.92% over the May 2019 – May 2026 period, mirroring the lackluster activity of Lebanon’s construction sector amidst the pale economic and security situation locally and in the region.
سَجَّلَت تسليمات الإسمنت، والتي تشكِّل مؤشِّراً رئيسيّاً للنشاط العقاري، انخفاضاً بنسبة 0.78% خلال شهر أيّار من العام 2026 إلى 115،789 طن، مقابِل 116،698 طن في الشهر الذي سبقه. كذلك الحال على صعيدٍ تراكمي حيث إنخفضت تسليمات الإسمنت بنسبة 37.34% سنويّاً خلال فترة الأشهر الخمسة الأولى من العام 2026 إلى 718،488 طن مقارنةً ب1،146،659 طن خلال الفترة نفسها من العام 2025. يمكن تعليل التراجع الملحوظ في تسليمات الإسمنت خلال العام 2026 بالعدوان الإسرائيلي الأخير على البلاد بدءاً من شهر آذار.
يُظهِر البيان التالي أنّ نسبة النموّ السنوي المركَّب (Compounded Annual Growth Rate) لتسليمات الإسمنت كانت سلبيّةً عند 7.92% خلال الفترة الممتدّة بين شهريّ أيّار 2019 وأيّار 2026، ما يَعكس ضعفاً في ديناميكيّة قطاع البناء في ظلّ الركود الإقتصادي والأمني الذي تشهده البلاد والمنطقة.
