According to the Central Administration of Statistics (CAS), Lebanon’s consumer price index increased by 1.40% month-on-month in August 2026 compared to a decrease of 0.03% in July. On an annual basis, Lebanon’s CPI rose by 16.66% to 8,816.35 in August 2026, compared to 7,557.53 in August 2025, with the average annual inflation rate for the first eight months of the year 2026 attaining 16.16%. The decelerating inflation pace since 2023 and until end of year 2025 owes to the widespread dollarization of products & services coupled with the stability of the LBP/USD exchange rate since the month of July 2023.
