Cement deliveries, the coincident indicator of construction activity, fell by 11.30% during the month of June 2019 to 279,630 tons, down from 315,258 tons a month earlier. On a cumulative basis, cement deliveries plunged by 32.39% y-o-y to 1,559,797 tons in the first half of the current year, compared to 2,307,098 tons during that same period last year.
Cement deliveries registered a negative compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.97% over the June 2012 - June 2019 period, mirroring the lackluster activity of Lebanon’s construction sector amidst the pale economic situation.
سَجَّلَت تسليمات الإسمنت، والتي تشكِّل مؤشِّراً رئيسيّاً للنشاط العقاري، تراجعاً بنسبة 11.30% خلال شهر حزيران 2019 إلى 279،630 طن، مقابِل 315،258 طن في الشهر الذي سبقه. أمّا على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، فقد إنخفضت تسليمات الإسمنت بنسبة 32.39% سنويّاً إلى 1،559،797 طن خلال النصف الأوّل من العام الحالي، مقارنةً ب2،307،098 طن في الفترة ذاتها من العام المنصرم.
يُظهِر البيان أعلاه أنّ نسبة النموّ السنوي المركَّب (Compounded Annual Growth Rate) لتسليمات الإسمنت كانت سلبيّةً عند 6.97% خلال الفترة الممتدّة بين حزيران 2012 وحزيران 2019، ما يَعكس ضعفاً في ديناميكيّة قطاع البناء في ظلّ الركود الإقتصادي الذي تشهده البلاد.
