Cement deliveries, the coincident indicator of construction activity, rose by 31.63% during the month of July 2019 to 368,063 tons, up from 279,630 tons a month earlier. On a cumulative basis however, cement deliveries plunged by 30.64% y-o-y to 1,927,860 tons in the first seven months of the current year, compared to 2,779,347 tons during that same period last year.
Cement deliveries registered a negative compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.45% over the July 2012 - July 2019 period, mirroring the lackluster activity of Lebanon’s construction sector amidst the pale economic situation.
سَجَّلَت تسليمات الإسمنت، والتي تشكِّل مؤشِّراً رئيسيّاً للنشاط العقاري، إرتفاعاً بنسبة 31.63% خلال شهر تمّوز 2019 إلى 368،063 طن، مقابِل 279،630 طن في الشهر الذي سبقه. أمّا على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، فقد إنخفضت تسليمات الإسمنت بنسبة 30.64% سنويّاً إلى 1،927،860 طن خلال الأشهُر السبعة الأولى من العام الحالي، مقارنةً ب2،779،347 طن في الفترة ذاتها من العام المنصرم.
يُظهِر البيان أعلاه أنّ نسبة النموّ السنوي المركَّب (Compounded Annual Growth Rate) لتسليمات الإسمنت كانت سلبيّةً عند 6.45% خلال الفترة الممتدّة بين تمّوز 2012 وتمّوز 2019، ما يَعكس ضعفاً في ديناميكيّة قطاع البناء في ظلّ الركود الإقتصادي الذي تشهده البلاد.
