The Directory of Financial Operations at the Lebanese Central Bank issued on October 14, 2019 a clarification to banks willing to subscribe to the upcoming Eurobond issue. In details, the note stated that in the light of the Ministry of Finance’s decision to issue Eurobonds, BDL will give banks and financial institutions the opportunity to exchange USD-denominated Certificates of Deposits and/or term deposits they hold at BDL with the to-be issued Eurobonds. The Central Bank also stated that the exchange will occur during the month of November and that the priority for banks willing to exchange CDs and/or deposits with the newly issued Eurobonds will be for short-term maturities.
أصدرت مديريّة العمليّات الماليّة في مصرف لبنان في 14 تشرين الأول 2019 توضيحاً للمصارف الراغبة في الإكتتاب في إصدار سندات الخزينة اللبنانيّة بالعملة الأجنبيّة (اليوروبوندز). بالتفاصيل، أشار التوضيح إلى أنّه في ضوء قرار وزارة الماليّة بإصدار يوروبوندز، سيمنح مصرف لبنان المصارف والمؤسّسات الماليّة الراغبة بالإكتتاب في هذا الإصدار الفرصة بإستبدال شهادات إيداع و/أو ودائع لأجل معنونة بالدولار الأميركي بالسندات المزمع إصدارها. وقد أشار المصرف المركزي أيضاً إلى أنّ عمليّة الإستبدال ستحصل خلال شهر تشرين الأول وإلى أنّ الأولويّة ستمنح إلى للإستحقاقات القصيرة الأجل.
