Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI Inc.), a major provider of research based indexes and analytics, recently released its “February 2021 Quarterly Index Review” to a host of its indexes including the MSCI Frontier Markets Index which encompasses Lebanese securities. In details, MSCI Inc. revealed that it will be deleting two Lebanese securities, namely Solidere “A” and Solidere “B”, from the Frontier Markets Index following the reclassification of the MSCI Lebanon Index to a “Standalone Market” status. Finally, MSCI Inc. revealed that the changes will take effect as of February 26, 2021 while indicating that the aforementioned two Lebanese securities will be removed at 80% of their closing price on that date.
