The Lebanese financial sector’s net foreign assets fell by $546.0 million in April 2021 in comparison with contractions of $95.9 million in March, $340.6 million in February and $410.6 million in January. This can be attributed to a $515.9 million drop in the net foreign assets of the Central Bank coupled with the $30.1 million decrease in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions. On a cumulative basis, the financial sector’s net foreign assets plunged by $1.39 billion during the first four months of the year 2021, in comparison with a $1.30 billion drop in the same period in 2020. Said contraction owes to some $2.37 billion drop in the net foreign assets of the Central Bank which totally wiped the $0.98 billion increase in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions.
سجّل صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى القطاع المالي اللبناني تراجع بلغ 546.0 مليون د.أ. خلال الشهر الرابع من العام 2021 مقابل إنكماش بلغ 95.9 مليون د.أ. في شهرآذار وتراجع بلغ 340.6 مليون د.أ. في شهر شباط وإنخفاض بقيمة 410.6 مليون د.أ. في شهر كانون الثاني. تأتي أرقام شهر نيسان نتيجة إنخفاض صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى مصرف لبنان بقيمة 515.9 مليون د.أ. تزامناً مع تراجع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسَّسات الماليّة بمبلغٍ قدره 30.1 مليون د.أ. كذلك على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، فقد تقلّص صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى القطاع المالي اللبناني بحوالي 1.39 مليار د.أ. خلال الأشهر الأربعة الأولى من العام 2021، مقارنةً بإنخفاض بلغ 1.30 مليار د.أ. في الفترة ذاتها من العام 2020. ويعزى الإنخفاض المذكور إلى تراجُع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى مصرف لبنان بمبلغ قدره 2.37 مليار د.أ.، والذي فاق بشكلٍ كبير الزيادة في صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسَّسات الماليّة والبالغة 0.98 مليار د.أ.
