All monetary aggregates ended the week of December 30, 2021 on a negative note. The overall money supply, “M4”, fell by LBP 361.90 billion on a weekly basis yet rose by 1.29% on an annual basis to LBP 214,269 billion, notwithstanding the LBP 241 billion increase in the non-banking sector’s Treasury bills portfolio during the concerned week.
In parallel, Lebanese-Pound denominated deposits and currency in circulation, “M1”, narrowed by LBP 58.23 million week-on-week to LBP 57,487 billion on the back of some LBP 377 billion contraction in currency in circulation, which outweighed the LBP 319 billion rise in demand deposits. Local currency term deposits, “M2”, also dropped by LBP 132.19 billion on a weekly basis yet increased by 16.74% year-on-year to settle at LBP 78,729 billion.
Consequently, private sector term and saving deposits denominated in LBP (“M2-M1”) receded by LBP 73.96 billion (0.35%) to LBP 21,242 billion during the week of December 30, with deposits denominated in foreign currencies (“M3-M2”) sinking by LBP 471.32 billion (0.39%) to LBP 121,441 billion.
أنهت كلّ المؤشّرات النقديّة أسبوعها المنتهي في 30 كانون الأوّل 2021 على وقعٍ سلبيّ. في التفاصيل، إنخفضت الكتلة النقديّة بمفهومها الواسع، "م4"، ب361.90 مليار ل.ل. على صعيدٍ أسبوعيٍّ فيما إرتفعت بنسبة 1.29% على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ إلى 214،269 مليار ل.ل.، بالرغم من أنّ محفظة سندات الخزينة المكتتَب بها من قِبَل القطاع غير المصرفي قد زادت ب241 مليار ل.ل. في الأسبوع المذكور.
بالتوازي، إنخفضت الكتلة النقديّة "م1"، والتي تشمل السيولة الجاهزة بالليرة اللبنانيّة، ب58.23 مليار ل.ل. على أساسٍ أسبوعيٍّ إلى 57،487 مليار ل.ل.، وذلك بفعل تراجع حجم النقد المتداول ب377 مليار ل.ل.، ما طغى على زيادة حجم الودائع تحت الطلب ب319 مليار ل.ل. وقد إنخفضت الكتلة النقديّة بالليرة اللبنانيّة، "م2"، ب132.19 مليار ل.ل. فيما زادت بنسبة 16.74% سنويّاً لتصل إلى 78،729 مليار ل.ل.
في هذا الإطار، تدنّى حجم الإدّخار بالعملة الوطنيّة (م2-م1) ب73.96 مليار ل.ل. (0.35%) إلى 21،242 مليار ل.ل. في الأسبوع المنتهي في 30 كانون الأوّل، كما وتراجع رصيد الودائع المعنونة بالعملات الأجنبيّة (م3-م2) ب471.32 مليار ل.ل. (0.39%) إلى 121،441مليار ل.ل.
