All monetary aggregates ended the week of April 28, 2022 on a positive note. The overall money supply, “M4”, widened by LBP 1,194.92 billion on a weekly basis yet narrowed by 2.86% on an annual basis to LBP 208,238 billion, noting that the non-banking sector’s Treasury bills portfolio increased by LBP 41 billion during the concerned week.
In parallel, Lebanese-Pound denominated deposits and currency in circulation, “M1”, rose by LBP 1,572.93 million week-on-week to LBP 55,712 billion on the back of some LBP 833 billion increase in demand deposits, coupled with the LBP 740 billion expansion in currency in circulation. Local currency term deposits, “M2”, also rose by LBP 1,486.40 billion on a weekly basis and by 2.62% year-on-year to settle at LBP 75,104 billion.
Consequently, private sector term and saving deposits denominated in LBP (“M2-M1”) receded by LBP 86.53 billion (0.44%) to LBP 19,391 billion during the week of April 28, with deposits denominated in foreign currencies (“M3-M2”) sinking by LBP 332.61 billion (0.28%) to LBP 118,395 billion.
أنهت كلّ المؤشّرات النقديّة أسبوعها المنتهي في 28 نيسان 2022 على وقعٍ إيجابي. في التفاصيل، إرتفعت الكتلة النقديّة بمفهومها الواسع، "م4"، ب1،194.92 مليار ل.ل. على صعيدٍ أسبوعيٍّ فيما إنخفضت بنسبة 2.86% على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ إلى 207،238 مليار ل.ل.، مع العلم أنّ محفظة سندات الخزينة المكتتَب بها من قِبَل القطاع غير المصرفي قد إرتفعت ب41 مليار ل.ل. في الأسبوع المذكور.
في المقابل، زادت الكتلة النقديّة "م1"، والتي تشمل السيولة الجاهزة بالليرة اللبنانيّة، ب1،572.93 مليار ل.ل. على أساسٍ أسبوعيٍّ إلى 55،712 مليار ل.ل.، وذلك بفعل إرتفاع حجم الودائع تحت الطلب ب833 مليار ل.ل.، ترافقاً مع زيادة حجم النقد المتداول ب740 مليار ل.ل. وقد زادت الكتلة النقديّة بالليرة اللبنانيّة، "م2"، ب1،486.40 مليار ل.ل. وبنسبة 2.62% سنويّاً لتصل إلى 75،104 مليار ل.ل.
في هذا الإطار، تدنّى حجم الإدّخار بالعملة الوطنيّة (م2-م1) ب86.53 مليار ل.ل. (0.44%) إلى 19،391 مليار ل.ل. في الأسبوع المنتهي في 28 نيسان، كما وتراجع رصيد الودائع المعنونة بالعملات الأجنبيّة (م3-م2) ب332.61 مليار ل.ل. (0.28%) إلى 118،395 مليار ل.ل.
