Lebanon’s gross public debt widened by $429.85 million during the fourth month of 2022 to $101.08 billion, up from $100.64 billion in March, noting it only increased by $699.27 million in the first four months of the year on the back of the $1.10 billion contraction it registered during the month of January. On an annual basis, gross public debt came in $3.30 billion higher when benchmarked to the $97.77 billion reading recorded in April 2021. The share of the Lebanese banking sector of gross public debt dropped to 14.93% in April 2022, down from 15.28% in March.

As far as debt in local currency is concerned, the latter rose by 0.34% month-on-month and by 0.97% year-on-year to $61.50 billion. Similarly, debt in foreign currency added 0.56% on a monthly basis and 7.36% on a yearly basis to $39.58 billion. The share of debt in local currency contracted to 60.84% of total debt in April 2022,down from 60.90% a month earlier while that in foreign currency expanded to 39.16% (up from 39.10% in March).

Net public debt, which factors out public sector deposits, settled 0.16% higher on a yearly basis at $87.05 billion, noting that public sector deposits rose by 29.09% y-o-y to $14.03 billion.

بحسب إحصاءات جمعيّة المصارف في لبنان، إرتفع الدين العامّ الإجمالي بنحو 429.85 مليون د.أ. خلال الشهر الرابع من العام 2022 إلى 101.08 مليار د.أ.، من 100.64 مليار د.أ. في الشهر الذي سبقه، مع العلم أنّه قد سجّل زيادة قليلة بلغت قيمتها 699.27 مليون د.أ. خلال الأشهر الأربع الأولى من العام نتيجة التراجع الكبير في شهر كانون الثاني والبالغ 1.10 مليار د.أ. كذلك على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ، زاد الدين العامّ الإجمالي بنحو 3.30 مليار د.أ. مقارنةً بالمستوى الذي كان عليه في شهر نيسان 2021، والبالغ حينها 97.77 مليار د.أ. يجدر الذكر، في هذا السياق، أنّ حصّة القطاع المصرفي من الدين العامّ قد إنكمشت إلى 14.93% في نيسان 2022، من 15.28% في شهر آذار.

في التفاصيل، إرتفع رصيد الدين بالليرة اللبنانيّة بنسبة 0.34% على أساسٍ شهريٍّ وبنسبة 0.97% على أساسٍ سنويٍّ إلى 61.50 مليار د.أ. في المقلب الآخر، زاد الدين بالعملة الأجنبيّة بنسبة 0.56% على صعيدٍ شهريّ وبنسبة 7.36% على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ ليصل إلى 39.58 مليار د.أ. وقد إنكمشت حصّة الدين بالليرة اللبنانيّة من 60.90% من الدين العام الإجمالي في شهر آذار إلى 60.84% في شهر نيسان 2022 في حين إرتفعت حصّة الدين بالعملة الأجنبيّة من 39.10% إلى 39.16% خلال الفترة نفسها.

في هذا السياق، إرتفع صافي الدين العامّ، والذي يقتطع ودائع القطاع العامّ، بنسبة 0.16% على أساسٍ سنويٍّ إلى 87.05 مليار د.أ.، من 86.90 مليار د.أ. في شهر نيسان 2021.

يظهر البيان التالي تطوُّر صافي الدين العامّ خلال السنوات القليلة المنصرمة، مسجّلاً نموّاً سنويّاً مركّباً (Compounded Annual Growth) بلغت نسبته 5.72% خلال الفترة الممتدّة بين نيسان 2015 ونيسان 2022.
