The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) issued a press release on September 13, 2022 in which it announced that the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF) has allocated $8 million to vulnerable families in Lebanon to address urgent needs. According to the OCHA’s Humanitarian Coordinator a.i. Mr. Edouard Beigbeder, vulnerable families in Lebanon are affected by the limited access to water, hefty basic commodities’ prices following the devaluation of the Lebanese Pound and meager access to life-savings services, noting that immediate action is required to avoid a further deterioration of the humanitarian situation. The amount that will be allocated by the LHF will be geared towards the crucial life-saving assistance to all population groups, guarantee the minimum supply of water services, support the return of children to schools and protect individuals in need. Furthermore, the press release stated that priority will be granted to 17 sectoral & multi-sectoral projects in the education, child protection, shelter & water and sanitation & hygiene sectors. More specifically, the OCHA’s press release mentioned that more than half of the funding will target Lebanese individuals while the remaining amount will be allocated to migrants and Palestinian & Syrian refugees, noting that 29% of the total funding will be disbursed to local & national NGOs.
أصدر مكتب الأمم المتّحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانيّة (OCHA) بيان صحافي بتاريخ 13 أيلول 2022 أعلن من خلاله أنّ الصندوق الإنساني للبنان (Lebanon Humanitarian Fund) سيخصّص 8 مليون د.أ. العائلات الأكثر عرضة للخطر تلبيةّ للحاجات الملحّة. وبحسب منسّق الشؤون الإنسانيّة بالنيابة السيّد إدوارد بيجبدير، فإنّ العائلات الأكثر عرضة للخطر في لبنان تعاني من صعوبات بالإستحصال على المياه والخدمات المنقذة للحياة، كما وأنّها ليست قادرة على تحمّل كلفة الأسعار الباهظة للسلع الأساسيّة، مشيراً في هذا الإطار أنّه يجب أخذ الإجراءات اللازمة بسرعة تفادياً للمزيد من التدهور في الوضع الإنساني. ووفقاً للبيان، فإنّ المبلغ المخصّص من الصندوق الإنساني للبنان من شأنه أن يؤمّن مساعدات طارئة ومنقذة للحياة لكافّة فئات المجتمع، كما وأنّه سيضمن الحدّ الأدنى من إستمراريّة خدمات المياه وعودة الأطفال إلى المدارس وحماية الفئات الأكثر ضعفاً. وقد أشار البيان أيضاً أنّ المبلغ المخصّص هذا سوف يعطي أولويّة ل17 مشروعاً في مختلف القطاعات لا سيّما في مجالات التعليم، وحماية الأطفال وقطاع المياه والصرف الصحّي والنظافة العامّة. وقد ذكر البيان أيضاً أنّ أكثر من نصف التمويل سوف يخصّص للأفراد اللبنانيّين في حين أنّ الرصيد المتبقّي سوف يتمّ إستعماله لمساعدة المهاجرين واللاجئين الفلسطينيّين والسوريّين، علماً أنّ 29% من إجمالي التمويل سيخصّص للمنظّمات الغير حكوميّة محليّة ووطنيّة.
