The Lebanese financial sector’s net foreign assets widened by $192.8 million in October of the current year in comparison with an expansion of $48.5 million in September and contractions of $314.3 million in August and $207.7 million in July. October’s figure can be attributed to a $377.6 million rise in the net foreign assets of the Central Bank, which outweighed the $184.9 million drop in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions. On a cumulative basis, however, the financial sector’s net foreign assets plunged by $2,859.9 million during the first ten months of the year 2022 in comparison with some $1,736.0 million drop in the same period in 2021. This cumulative drop owes to a $2,944.4 million contraction in the net foreign assets of the Central Bank, totally eroding the $84.5 million increase in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions.
إرتفع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى القطاع المالي اللبناني بمبلغ قدره 192.8 مليون د.أ. خلال الشهر العاشر من العام 2022 مقابل زيادة بلغت 48.5 مليون د.أ. في شهر أيلول وإنخفاض بلغ 314.3 مليون د.أ. في شهر آب وتراجع بلغ 207.7 مليون د.أ. في شهر تمّوز. تأتي أرقام شهر تشرين الأوّل نتيجة إرتفاع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى مصرف لبنان بقيمة 377.6 مليون د.أ.، ما طغى على إنخفاض صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسَّسات الماليّة بمبلغٍ قدره 184.9 مليون د.أ. أمّا على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، فقد تقلّص صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى القطاع المالي اللبناني بحوالي 2،859.9 مليون د.أ. خلال الأشهر العشرة الأولى من العام 2022 مقارنةً بتراجع بلغ 1،736.0 مليون د.أ. في الفترة ذاتها من العام 2021. يعزى الإنخفاض المذكور إلى تراجُع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى مصرف لبنان بمبلغٍ قدره 2،944.4 مليون د.أ. ما أطاح بالزيادة في صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسَّسات الماليّة بمبلغ قدره 84.5 مليون د.أ.
