The number of passengers travelling via the Beirut International Airport (BIA) rose by 23.66% y-o-y in the first five months of 2023 to 2,458,961, up from 1,988,461 passengers in the same period last year. More specifically, the number of arriving travelers rose by 24.81% y-o-y to 1,203,489 and the number of departing travelers increased by 23.43% to 1,250,751 while the number of transit travelers fell by 56.76% to 4,721. Concurrently, the number of flights saw a sharp annual rebound of 18.47% over the concerned period to 21,292. It is worth highlighting in this context that the share of Middle East Airlines (MEA) rose from 35.86% of the total number of flights during the first five months of 2022 to 44.38% in the same period this year. زاد عدد المسافرين عبر مطار بيروت بنسبة 23.66% على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ خلال الأشهر الخمسة الأولى من العام 2023 إلى 2،458،961 مسافر مقارنةً مع 1،988،461 مسافر خلال الفترة نفسها من العام 2022. في التفاصيل، إرتفع عدد الوافدين إلى لبنان بنسبة 24.81% على أساسٍ سنويٍّ إلى 1،203،489 مسافر، تزامناً مع زيادة عدد المغادرين بنسبة 23.43% إلى 1،250،751 مسافر. من ناحية أخرى، تراجع عدد العابرين (ترانزيت) عبر مطار بيروت الدولي بنسبة 56.76% على أساس سنويّ إلى 4،721 مسافر، فيما زاد عدد الرحلات الجويّة بنسبة 18.47% إلى 21،292. يجدر الذكر أنّ حصّة طيران الشرق الأوسط من إجمالي عدد الرحلات قد زادت من 35.86% خلال الأشهر الخمسة الأولى من العام 2022 إلى 44.38% خلال الفترة ذاتها من العام 2023، كما هو مبيّن أدناه:
