The United Nations and the European Union recently joined efforts to support Al-Fayhaa fire brigade, which serves around 450,000 residents spread across Tripoli, Al-Mina, Al-Beddawi and Qalamoun. The assistance came in the form of building renovation (electric and plumbing works, as well as installing a solar system to secure uninterrupted operations) and in kind via extending specialized training to around 48 firefighters on first aid and firefighting techniques.      In addition, the fire brigade is poised to receive by end of year crucial equipment and vehicles to bolster its firefighting capabilities.
