The number of passengers travelling via the Beirut International Airport (BIA) rose by 20.64% y-o-y in the first seven months of 2023 to 4,090,879, up from 3,390,916 passengers in the same period last year. More specifically, the number of arriving travelers rose by 21.01% y-o-y to 2,135,333 and the number of departing travelers increased by 21.06% to 1,949,045 while the number of transit travelers fell by 60.34% to 6,501. Concurrently, the number of flights saw an annual rebound of 16.61% over the concerned period to 33,337. It is worth highlighting in this context that the share of Middle East Airlines (MEA) rose from 36.79% of the total number of flights during the first seven months of 2022 to 43.08% in the same period this year. زاد عدد المسافرين عبر مطار بيروت بنسبة 20.64% على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ خلال الأشهر السبعة الأولى من العام 2023 إلى 4،090،879 مسافر مقارنةً مع 3،390،916 مسافر خلال الفترة نفسها من العام 2022. في التفاصيل، إرتفع عدد الوافدين إلى لبنان بنسبة 21.01% على أساسٍ سنويٍّ إلى 2،135،333 مسافر، تزامناً مع زيادة عدد المغادرين بنسبة 21.06% إلى 1،949،045 مسافر. من ناحية أخرى، تراجع عدد العابرين (ترانزيت) عبر مطار بيروت الدولي بنسبة 60.34% على أساس سنويّ إلى 6،501 مسافر، فيما زاد عدد الرحلات الجويّة بنسبة 16.61% إلى 33،337. يجدر الذكر أنّ حصّة طيران الشرق الأوسط من إجمالي عدد الرحلات قد زادت من 36.79% خلال الأشهر السبعة الأولى من العام 2022 إلى 43.08% خلال الفترة ذاتها من العام 2023، كما هو مبيّن أدناه:
