The Ministry of Telecommunications (MOT) recently announced that it has secured an $8 million grant from China to provide solar power to 380 Ogero sites, in an endeavor to curb internet cuts resulting from the lack of supply of fuel oil for generators due to budget issues. The Ministry would also soon be launching a donations campaign to secure the necessary funds to install the solar power, with the project expected to get operational starting the summer season of the year 2024. On the shorter term, the MOT uncovered that the government has recently allocated LBP 1,500 billion that will be disbursed on maintenance works.
أعلنت وزارة الإتصالات مؤخّراً بأنّها أمّنت هبة بقيمة 8 مليون د.أ. من الصين لتزويد 380 موقع لأوجيرو بالطاقة الشمسيّة وذلك في محاولة للتخفيف من التوقّفات القسريّة في خدمة الإنترنت والناجمة عن عدم توفّر الأموال لتأمين مادّة المازوت اللازمة لتشغيل المولّدات. كما وستقوم الوزارة قريباً بإطلاق حملة تبرّعات لتأمين الأموال لتركيب هذه الطاقة الشمسيّة على أن يدخل هذا المشروع حيّز الخدمة خلال صيف العام 2024. على المدى الأقصر، كشفت وزارة الإتصالات بأن الحكومة قد خصّصت مؤخّراً مبلغ 1،500 مليار ل.ل. ليتّم صرفه على أعمال الصيانة.
