The caretaker Minister of Energy and Water Dr. Walid Fayad uncovered recently that a coalition of Total Energies, ENI and Qatar Energy has submitted a bid for drilling activities in blocks 8 and 10, just one hour before the end of the deadline. Dr Fayad commented that the government will be reviewing the bids over the next couple of months while also adding that the consortium would soon (by October 22) decide if it were to drill again in block 4. Finally, Dr. Fayad revealed that the results for block 9 should be available by end of October or November.
