The number of passengers travelling via the Beirut International Airport (BIA) rose by 11.86% in 2023 to 7,103,349, up from 6,349,969 passengers in 2022. More specifically, the number of arriving travelers rose by 11.48% y-o-y to 3,477,466 and the number of departing travelers increased by 13.03% to 3,616,608 while the number of transit travelers fell by 69.90% to 9,275. Concurrently, the number of flights saw an annual rebound of 8.97% over the concerned year to 57,206. It is worth highlighting in this context that the share of Middle East Airlines (MEA) rose from 38.06% of the total number of flights in 2022 to 40.96% in 2023.
