The Lebanese Central Bank issued on February 2, 2024 intermediate decision 13613 under intermediate circular no. 686 to banks and financial institutions. In details, the provisions of the circular stipulate that interest payments on banks’ long-term USD deposits with BDL will be reduced by 75% and will be paid in US Dollar only. Similarly, interest payments on banks’ participations in USD-denominated certificates of deposit issued by BDL will also be decreased by 75% and paid in US Dollar only. Finally, the provisions of intermediate circular 686 will be valid from February 3, 2024 until the end of June 2024.
أَصدَرَ مصرف لبنان بتاريخ 2 شباط 2024 القرار الوسيط رقم 13613 تحت التعميم الوسيط رقم 686 للمصارف والمؤسّسات الماليّة. بالتفاصيل، أشار التعميم أنّ الفوائد على الودائع الطويلة الأجل والمعنوَنة بالدولار الأميركي المودَعة لديه من قِبَل المصارف العامِلة في لبنان ستخفّض بنسبة 75% على أن تدفع بالدولار الأميركي. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، ستخفّض الفوائد على شهادات الإيداع المعنوَنة بالدولار الأميركي المصدَّرة من قِبَله والتي تملكها المصارف العامِلة في لبنان بنسبة 75% وستدفع بالدولار الأميركي. أخيراً، سيُعمل بأحكام التعميم الوسيط رقم 686 من تاريخ 3 شباط 2024 ولغاية نهاية شهر حزيران 2024.
