The Lebanese port authorities have recently launched an auction for the sale of metal debris caused by the blast, nearly three years and a half after the infamous explosion, bearing in mind that debris removal constitutes a first step towards the reconstruction of the port. The minimum sale price was set at $175 per ton, taking into account that the total weight of the wreckage is estimated at between 9,500 tons (as per the French company Recigroup) and 18,000 tons (as per the Lebanese army), which translates into total potential revenues ranging between $1.7 and $3.2 million. It is worth noting that four companies have bid for the auction, yet one was disqualified, whereas the offers of the three remaining ones will be opened after said companies provide some additional clarifications. It is also worth mentioning that said auction does not include the damaged chassis of ~1,200 cars at the port.
أطلقت سلطات المرفأ مؤخّراً مزاداً لبيع الخردة الناجمة عن إنفجار 4 آب بعد مرور نحو ثلاث سنوات ونصف على الحدث المشؤوم علماً بأنّ إزالة الأنقاض تشكل خطوة أولى نحو إعادة إعمار المرفأ. وتم تحديد الحدّ الأدنى لسعر بيع الحطام بـ175 دولاراً أميركي للطن مع الأخذ بعين الإعتبار بأنّ الوزن الإجمالي للحطام يقدر بما بين 9500 طن (حسب شركة ريسيغروب الفرنسية) و18 ألف طن (حسب الجيش اللبناني) أي ما يعادل إيرادات إجماليّة محتملة تتراوح بين 1.7 و3.2 مليون دولار أميركي. ومن الجدير ذكره بأنّ أربع شركات كانت قد تقدّمت إلى المزاد إلّا إنّه تم استبعاد إحداها، فيما سيتم فضّ عروض الشركات الثلاث المتبقيّة بعد تقديمها لبعض التوضيحات الإضافيّة. ومن الجدير ذكره أيضاً بأن المزاد المذكور لا يشمل هياكل حوالي 1200 سيّارة محطّمة.
