The Minister of Energy and Water in the caretaker government Dr. Walid Fayad revealed recently that tenders have been launched for the purchase of fuel, with delivery expected by end of July. Accordingly, electricity production would rise from 550 megawatts (MW) to 800 MW (with a target to attain 1,000 MW in 2025), reflecting a remarkable improvement on the current 6-7 hours of electricity supply per day. In a related note, it is worth noting that the Lebanese government gave the greenlight to the consortium of Total Energies and Qatar Energy to purchase electricity production licenses from some 11 companies who had previously won bids to produce solar power, after the consortium had signaled its intent to generate some 100 MW from solar power in Lebanon. Always in the same vein, it is worth pointing out that CMA CGM (one of the 11 companies that obtained the original license) should begin within the next few days building two solar power plants with a combined capacity of 30 megawatts.
كشف وزير الطاقة والمياه في حكومة تصريف الأعمال الدكتور وليد فياض مؤخّراً بأنّ المناقصات لشراء الفيول قد أُطلقَت على أن تصل الشحنات في أواخر شهر تمّوز ليرتفع بذلك إنتاج الكهرباء من 550 ميغاواط إلى 800 ميغاواط (مع هدف بالوصول إلى 1،000 ميغاواط في العام 2025) ما سينعكس إيجاباً على تغذية الطاقة الكهربائيّة البالغة حاليّاً 6-7 ساعات يوميّاً. في الإطار عينه، أعطت الحكومة اللبنانيّة كونسورتيوم شركتيّ توتال إنيرجيز و شركة قطر للطاقة الضوء الأخضر لشراء رخص إنتاج طاقة من ال11 شركة التي فازت برخص إنتاج طاقة شمسيّة في وقت سابق بعدما كان الكونسورتيوم قد أعلن عن نيّته إنتاج حوالي ال100 ميغاواط من الطاقة الشمسيّة. في الإطار عينه، تجدر الإشارة إلى أنّه من المقرّر أن تبدأ شركة CMA CGM (إحدى الشركات الـ 11 التي حصلت على الترخيص في العام 2022) خلال الأيّام القادمة ببناء محطّتين للطاقة الشمسيّة بقدرة إنتاجية مشتركة تبلغ 30 ميجاوات.
