The Ministry of Finance proposed in a letter dated August 14, 2024 addressed to the Council of Ministers a list of exchange rates to be applied on USD-denominated revenues and expenditures when calculating the budget over the 2020-2024 period, depending on the timing and type of the entry (fresh USD or local dollars). The suggestion comes in line with the steep appreciation of the USD against the local currency over the concerned period and in line with a set of circulars issued by BDL concerning the applicable LBP/USD exchange rate, noting that this proposal is pending the approval of the Council.
