According to the statistics published by the Automobile Importers Association (AIA), new cars registration activity slowed down during the month of August 2024 to 447 cars, compared to 1,278 in July, noting that there were no cars registrations in the same month last year earlier on the back of the closure of the Traffic Management Organization (TMO). On a cumulative basis, the number of registered cars rose to 5,759 in the first eight months of 2024 compared to 3,891 cars in the same period last year notwithstanding the fact that the current year’s figure is still dwarfed by the >18K pre-crisis level registered during the first eight months of 2019.
