Lebanon witnessed once more an increase in international assistance following the continued escalation of the conflict. In details, the European Union (EU) has announced on October 3 that it will allocate an additional €30 million in humanitarian assistance to Lebanon to aid individuals in need after having allocated €10 million on September 29. The €30 million aid package will be used to provide urgently needed food assistance, shelter, and healthcare. According to the President of the European Commission Mrs. Ursula Von der Leyen, the new funding will guarantee that civilians receive direly needed assistance during the current challenging times. The EU also launched on October 9 a “Humanitarian Air Bridge Operation” consisting of three flights to Beirut, the first of which is expected to arrive on October 11. The flights will transport blankets and emergency shelter kits to displaced citizens.
In addition, the United States announced on October 4 that it will also provide $157 million in humanitarian aid to Lebanon to address the new and existing needs of internally displaced persons and the communities that host them. The US aid package will include emergency food, shelter, protection, water, and sanitation assistance. Furthermore, Canada announced on October 9 that it will grant Lebanon an additional $15 million in funding for humanitarian assistance after having allocated $10 million the week before. The $15 million will be used to address the urgent needs of civilians in Lebanon by providing them with food, water, emergency healthcare, and protection services.
Finally, China announced on October 7 that it will provide emergency medical supplies to assist Lebanon in carrying out medical assistance to individuals in need, while France and Qatar joined forces and announced on October 8 that 27 tons of medicines, emergency medical equipment, and other basic essentials were provided to Lebanon.
شهد لبنان مرّةً أخرى عن إرتفاع عدد المساعدات الدوليّة مع إستمرار الصراع. وفي التفاصيل، أعلن الإتّحاد الأوروبّي بتاريخ 3 تشرين الأوّل أنّه سوف يخصّص مبلغ 30 مليون يورو إضافي كمساعدات إنسانيّة للأشخاص المحتاجين وذلك بعدما كان قد خصّص مبلغ 10 مليون يورو بتاريخ 29 أيلول. سوف تستعمل المساعدات الجديدة في مجالات التقديمات الغذائيّة والمأوى والرعاية الصحيّة. ووفقاً لرئيسة المفوضيّة الأوروبيّة السيّدة أورسولا فون دير لاين، فإنّ المساعدات الجديدة ستضمن المساعدات المطلوبة للأشخاص المحتاجة في الأوقات الحاليّة العصيبة. وقد أعلن الإتّحاد الأوروبّي بتاريخ 9 تشرين الأوّل أنّه يقوم حاليّاً بإمداد لبنان بمساعدات إنسانيّة من خلال ثلاث رحلات جويّة على شكل جسر جويّ بين الإتّحاد الأوروبّي ولبنان وهي تشمل بطانيّات وطرود طوارئ للأشخاص المحتاجة في الملاجئ (Emergency Shelter Kits) مع العلم أنّ الطائرة الإسعاف الأولى قد حدّد موعدها في 11 تشرين الأوّل.
بالإضافة إلى ذلك، فقد أعلنت الولايات المتّحدة الأميركيّة بتاريخ 4 تشرين الأوّل أنّها سوف تخصّص مبلغ 157 مليون دولار أميركي على شكل مساعدات إنسانيّة للبنان لتأمين إحتياجات الأشخاص النازحين في الداخل والمجتمعات التي تستقبلهم. وسوف تخصّص تلك المبالغ لتقديم مساعدات طارئة من طرود غذائيّة ومآوي وحماية إلى مياه وصرف صحّي. وقد أعلنت كندا بتاريخ 9 تشرين الأوّل أنّها ستخصّص مبلغ 15 مليون دولار أميركي إضافي على شكل مساعدات إنسانيّة بعدما كانت قد قدّمت 10 مليون دولار أميركي في الأسبوع السابق. سوف يتمّ تخصيص المبلغ الإضافي المذكور لمعالجة الإحتياجات الطارئة للمدنيّين المهجّرين من مناطقهم على شكل تقديمات غذائيّة ومياه ورعاية صحيّة طارئة وخدمات حماية.
أخيراً، أعلنت الصين بتاريخ 7 تشرين الأوّل أنّها سوف تؤمّن مستلزمات طبيّة طارئة لتمكين لبنان من تقديم الخدمات الطبيّة اللازمة للأشخاص المحتاجين، كما وأنّ دولتيّ فرنسا وقطر قد أعلنتا عن تعاونهما بتاريخ 8 تشرين الأوّل لتقديم مساعدات ومعدّات طبيّة طارئة وإحتياجات أساسيّة أخرى لإسعاف الأشخاص المتضرّرين من الأزمة في لبنان. تبلغ قيمة هذه المساعدات 27 طن.
