According to Banque Du Liban statistics, opened letters of credit (L/Cs), a measurement tool for trade activity, increased by 81.92% during the month of November 2024 to reach LBP 167.00 billion, up from LBP 91.80 billion a month earlier. Similarly on an annual basis, the face value of opened L/Cs reached LBP 9,031.70 billion during the first eleven months of 2024 compared to LBP 2,803.00 billion in the same period of 2023 owing to the change of the official exchange rate to LBP 89,500 per USD starting the month of January 2024.
Documentary L/Cs opened to finance imports activities reached LBP 7,415.40 billion YTD November 2024, compared to LBP 2,405.00 billion in the equivalent period in 2023 at a time when the exchange rate was LBP 15,000 per USD. Similarly, utilized credits for imports came in higher at LBP 6,574.50 billion while inward bills for collection, another documentary credit form of financing (backed by invoices), soared to LBP 17,926.80 billion YTD November 2024, from LBP 2,622.70 billion in the same period in 2023.
In a related note, documentary L/Cs opened to finance exports activities rose to LBP 1,616.30 billion YTD November 2024, from LBP 398.00 billion in the same period in 2023. Concurrently, utilized credits to finance exports soared to LBP 2,269.70 billion (140.43% of opened L/Cs for exports). In the same vein, the value of outward bills rose to LBP 6,418.10 million YTD November 2024, with outstanding bills for collection increasing to LBP 10,746.10 billion, from LBP 2,034.90 billion in the first eleven months of 2023.
إستناداً إلى إحصاءات مصرف لبنان، إرتفعت قيمة الإعتمادات المستنديّة المفتوحة، وهي مؤشِّر لقياس حركة التبادل التجاري في لبنان، بنسبة 81.92% خلال شهر تشرين الثاني 2024 لتبلغ 167.00 مليار ل.ل.، مقارنةً مع 91.80 مليار ل.ل. في الشهر الذي سبقه. كذلك على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، فقد زادت قيمة الإعتمادات المستنديّة المفتوحة إلى 9،031.70 مليار ل.ل. في الأشهر الإحدى عشرة الأولى من العام 2024 من 2،803.00 في الفترة نفسها من العام 2023 نتيجة إعتماد سعر الصرف الرسمي للدولار الأميركي مقابل الليرة اللبنانيّة عند 89،500 ل.ل. للدولار الواحد بدءاً من شهر كانون الثاني 2024.
على صعيد حركة الإستيراد إلى لبنان، بلغت قيمة الإعتمادات المستنديّة المفتوحة للإستيراد 7،415.40 مليار ل.ل. مع نهاية شهر تشرين الثاني 2024، مقابِل 2،405.00 مليار ل.ل. في الفترة ذاتها من العام 2023 عندما كان سعر الصرف الرسمي يبلغ 15،000 ليرة لبنانيّة للدولار الأميركي الواحد. في سياقٍ آخر، زادت قيمة الإعتمادات المستعمَلة للإستيراد إلى 6،574.50 مليار ل.ل.، كما ووصلت البوالص الواردة إلى 17،926.80 مليار ل.ل.، من 2،622.70 مليار ل.ل. حتّى شهر تشرين الثاني 2023.
أمّا لجهة إعتمادات التصدير، فقد زادت قيمة الإعتمادات المفتوحة للتصدير إلى 1،616.30 مليار ل.ل. خلال الأشهر الإحدى عشرة الأولى من العام 2024، مقابِل 398.00 مليار ل.ل. في الفترة الموازية من العام 2023. في المقلب الآخر، فقد إرتفعت قيمة الإعتمادات المستعمَلة للتصدير إلى 2،269.70 مليار ل.ل. (أي ما يشكّل نسبة 140.43% من قيمة الإعتمادات المستنديّة المفتوحة للتصدير). في السياقٍ نفسه، إرتفعت قيمة البوالص الخارجة إلى 6،418.10 مليار ل.ل. حتّى شهر تشرين الثاني 2024، كما وزاد رصيد البوالص قيد التحصيل إلى 10،746.10 مليار ل.ل. من 2،034.90 مليار ل.ل. في الفترة نفسها من العام 2023
