The Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF) has allocated $9.9 million aid as part of its second standard allocation to Lebanon that prioritizes providing life-saving assistance to the most vulnerable individuals in five Lebanese districts (Akkar, Baalbek, Zahle, Saida, and Sour). The LHF adopted a “thematic” approach to target the aforementioned five areas with the most pressing needs and that suffered from a severe drought, displacement due to the conflict, and stressed local resources. The funding is divided between food security ($3.5 million), WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) ($3.5 million), and health & nutrition ($2.9 million) allocated to the five target districts as follows:

The $9.9 million aid is divided into two tranches: the first will be provided by national NGOs for a total amount of $5.3 million and will target 10 projects, while the second will be channeled through international NGOs for an amount of $4.6 million addressing 9 projects.

The projects will be geared towards 679 thousand individuals of which 390.13 thousand people in host communities, around 288.93 thousand refugees, and circa 0.31 thousand migrants & Palestinian refugees.
