The European Union (EU) announced on March 23, 2026 that it is ramping up its aid to Lebanon amid the escalation of violence and displacement, thereby reaffirming the EU’s commitment to Lebanon’s stability. The EU noted that it is mobilizing measures under its €1 billion 2024-2027 financial support package for Lebanon to meet the country’s most urgent needs. In details, the EU has allocated additional cash aid of €10 million for 100,000 vulnerable households. In addition, more than 20 EU-funded mobile medical units have been deployed to assist 67 collective shelters and areas under evacuation orders to grant individuals access to essential health services. Furthermore, the EU revealed that it is also changing its education response to ensure learning continuity by enabling remote classes to some 50,000 students and granting digital training tools for 8,000 teachers.

In a related note, Egypt announced on March 24 that it has provided Lebanon with emergency assistance consisting of 1,000 tons of aid that includes food baskets, blankets, shelter supplies, medicines, and medical equipment.
