Beirut Port freight activity rebounded during the month of December 2025 with the total weight of shipped goods increasing to around 545.4 thousand tons compared to 534.8 thousand tons a month earlier (1.98% expansion). On a cumulative basis, moreover, freight activity rose by a robust 18.41% during the year 2025 to 6,409 thousand tons up from 5,412 thousand tons a year earlier. The number of vessels, however, dropped by 3.90% year-on-year to 1,403 in comparison with 1,460 in 2024, while the number of imported cars increased by 57.13% to 70,096 cars. In a related context, the Beirut port handled containers with a total cargo capacity of around 944.24 thousand TEUs (including transshipments) during the year 2025 in comparison with a smaller cargo capacity of 760.09 thousand TEUs a year earlier.
