The European Union (EU) announced recently that it granted the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs (MOSA), (the first time in several years that an EU funding is channeled via a Lebanese government institution), some €45 million. The amount will consist mainly of some €40 million earmarked to the AMAN program, a national cash assistance scheme for 90,000 of the most vulnerable Lebanese families, covering in this regard five months of payments. The remaining €5 million will be allocated to support institutional reforms within the MOSA, including the modernization of the beneficiary database to ensure that assistance is delivered efficiently to those most in need.
أعلن الإتّحاد الأوروبّي مؤخراً أنّه منح وزارة الشؤون الإجتماعيّة اللبنانيّة هبة تقارب قيمتها ال45 مليون يورو مع العلم بأنّ هذه هيّ المرّة الأولى منذ سنوات عدّة التي يتم فيها توجيه تمويل أوروبي عبر مؤسّسة حكوميّة لبنانيّة. وسيُخصّص الجزء الأكبر من هذا المبلغ (40 مليون يورو) لبرنامج "أمان"، وهو برنامج وطني للمساعدات النقديّة يستهدف 90,000 من أكثر العائلات اللبنانية ضعفاً، على أن يغطّي في هذا الإطار 5 أشهر من الدفعات. أمّا بالنسية للمبلغ المتبقّي (أيّ 5 ملايين يورو) فسيُخصص لدعم الإصلاحات المؤسّسيّة داخل الوزارة، بما في ذلك تحديث قاعدة بيانات المستفيدين لضمان إيصال المساعدات بكفاءة إلى الفئات الأكثر حاجة.
