Freight activity via the Port of Tripoli slowed during the month of March 2026 with the total weight of shipped goods dropping to 112 thousand tons compared to 120 thousand tons in February (6.67% decrease). Imported freight accounted for 96.43% (108 thousand tons) of total freight in the third month of the current year, while export activity constituted a meager 3.57% (4 thousand tons). On a cumulative basis, Tripoli Port freight activity came in 37.89% lower y-o-y during the first quarter of 2026 to 377 thousand tons of total weight of shipped goods, compared to 607 thousand tons in the same quarter in 2025. Similarly, the number of vessels decreased by 29.29% on a yearly basis to 140, with the number of imported cars decreasing by 58.86% (319 cars) to 223 cars. In this context, port-related revenues dropped by 31.82% y-o-y to $4.21 million up to the month of March 2026, compared to $6.17 million in the first quarter of 2025.
