The Lebanese financial sector’s net foreign assets narrowed by $968.7 million in May 2026, compared to an increase of $816.4 million in April, a decrease of $6,038.9 million in March and increases of $1,960.8 million in February and $5,744.7 million in January, only to name a few. The net foreign assets of the Central Bank dropped by $969.6 million in May alone (monthly contraction of $985.31 million in gold reserves and a $15.37 million increase in foreign reserve assets) which outweighed the $0.9 million rise in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions. On a cumulative basis, the financial sector’s net foreign assets increased by $1,514.2 million during the first five months of the year 2026 in comparison with a significant appreciation of $8,143.3 million in the same period in 2025. This increase owes to some $903.7 million expansion in the net foreign assets of the Central Bank coupled with a $610.6 million increase in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions.

(تراجع شهريّ في إحتياطات الذهب بقيمة 985.31 مليون د.أ. وإرتفاع في الموجودات الخارجيّة بالعملات الأجنبيّة بمبلغ قدره 15.37 مليون د.أ.) ما طغى على زيادة صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسّسات الماليّة بقيمة 0.9 مليون د.أ. أمّا على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، فقد إرتفع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى القطاع المالي اللبناني بحوالي 1،514.2 مليون د.أ. خلال الأشهر الخمسة الأولى من العام 2026 مقارنةً بتحسّن بلغت قيمته 8،143.3 مليون د.أ. في الفترة ذاتها من العام 2025. يعزى الإرتفاع المذكور إلى زيادة صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى مصرف لبنان بمبلغٍ قدره 903.7 مليون د.أ. وإرتفاع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسَّسات الماليّة بقيمة 610.6 مليون د.أ.
