Cement deliveries, the coincident indicator of construction activity, fell by 14.28% during the month of August 2019 to 315,488 tons, down from 368,063 tons a month earlier. On a cumulative basis, cement deliveries plunged by 29.83% y-o-y to 2,243,348 tons in the first eight months of the current year, compared to 3,196,992 tons during that same period last year.
Cement deliveries registered a negative compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.79% over the August 2012 - August 2019 period, mirroring the lackluster activity of Lebanon’s construction sector amidst the pale economic situation.
سَجَّلَت تسليمات الإسمنت، والتي تشكِّل مؤشِّراً رئيسيّاً للنشاط العقاري، إنخفاضاً بنسبة 14.28% خلال شهر آب 2019 إلى 315،488 طن، مقابِل 368،063 طن في الشهر الذي سبقه. كذلك على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، تراجعت تسليمات الإسمنت بنسبة 29.83% سنويّاً إلى 2،243،348 طن خلال الأشهُر الثمانية الأولى من العام الحالي، مقارنةً ب3،196،992 طن في الفترة ذاتها من العام المنصرم.
يُظهِر البيان أعلاه أنّ نسبة النموّ السنوي المركَّب (Compounded Annual Growth Rate) لتسليمات الإسمنت كانت سلبيّةً عند 5.79% خلال الفترة الممتدّة بين آب 2012 وآب 2019، ما يَعكس ضعفاً في ديناميكيّة قطاع البناء في ظلّ الركود الإقتصادي الذي تشهده البلاد.
