According to the monthly statistics published by the Automobile Importers Association (AIA), new car sales in Lebanon stood at 651 cars during the month of May 2020, compared to 188 vehicles in April and 2,458 in May of last year. On a cumulative basis, new car sales fell by 69.86% y-o-y to 3,183 vehicles during the first five months of 2020, down from 10,560 vehicles during that same period last year. This can be explained by the 74.78% sharp annual drop in the sales of Japanese cars to 1,019, coupled with some 78.19% contraction in the sales of Korean cars to 591 vehicles and some 59.62% decrease in the sales of European cars to 1,009 only to name a few. It is worth noting that the number of imported cars via the Beirut Port had plunged by 70.94% annually in February 2020. Japanese cars controlled the lion’s share of new car sales in Lebanon, amassing alone 32.01% of total unit sales up to May 2020, followed by European (31.70%), Korean (18.57%), American (13.76%), and Chinese (3.96%) cars.
The Korean “KIA” brand recorded total unit sales of 363 cars by May 2020, enjoying the highest market share of 11.40%, followed by the Japanese “Nissan” (279 cars <8.77%>) and American “Chevrolet” (276 cars <8.67%>) brands, only to name a few.
إستناداً إلى إحصاءات جمعيّة مستوردي السيّارات، إرتفعت مبيعات السيّارات الجديدة في لبنان إلى 651 سيّارة خلال شهر أيّار 2020 مقارنةً مع 188 سيّارة في شهر نيسان و2،458 سيّارة في شهر أيّار 2019. كذلك على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، فقد إنخفضت مبيعات السيّارات الجديدة بنسبة 69.86% سنويّاً إلى 3،183 سيّارة خلال فترة الأشهر الخمسة الأولى من العام الحالي، من 10،560 سيّارة في الفترة نفسها من العام المنصرم. يعود ذلك بالأخصّ إلى تراجُع مبيعات السيّارات اليابانيّة بنسبة 74.78% إلى 1،019 سيّارة، ترافقاً مع إنكماش مبيع السيارات الكوريّة بنسبة 78.19% إلى 591 سيّارة وإنخفاض مبيعات السيّارات الأوروبيّة بنسبة 59.62% إلى 1،009 سيّارة للذكر لا للحصر. يجدر الذكر، في هذا السياق، أنّ عدد السيّارات المستورَدة عبر مرفأ بيروت كان قد تقلّص ب70.94% سنويّاً لغاية شهر شباط 2020. وتُبيِّن الإحصاءات أنّ السيّارات اليابانيّة الصنع قد تَصَدَّرَت مبيعات السيّارات الجديدة في لبنان بحيث بلغت حصّتها من السوق 32.01% مع نهاية شهر أيّار 2020، تلتها السيّارات الأوروبيّة (31.70%) والكوريّة (18.57%)، ومن ثمّ السيّارات الأميركيّة (13.76%) والصينيّة (3.96%).
أمّا بالنسبة لطراز السيّارات المباعة، فقد حافظت ماركة "كيا" الكوريّة على مركزها الريادي لجهة مبيعات السيّارات الجديدة، مسجِّلةً مبيع 363 سيّارة لغاية شهر أيّار من العام الحالي لتصل حصّتها من السوق إلى 11.40%، تلتها ماركة "نيسان" اليابانيّة (279 سيّارة <8.77%>) وماركة "شيفروليه" الأميركيّة (276 سيّارة <8.67%>)، للذكر لا للحصر.
