The Lebanese Ministry of Finance (MOF) published its monthly “Public Finance Monitor”, which included, among others, government transfers to Electricité Du Liban (EDL), revealing some $54.39 million annual contraction in the amounts transferred to LBP 294 billion ($195.0 million) in the first two months of the current year, down from LBP 376 billion ($249.4 million) during that same period last year. This owes to the 21.9% y-o-y drop in the value of gas and fuel purchases from KPC and Sonatrach to LBP 293 billion ($194.4 million) as the volume of imported gasoline fell by 14.2% y-o-y.
It is worth noting that the amounts transferred to EDL constituted 8.79% of the government’s total primary expenditures during the first two months of this year, compared to a higher proportion of 13.17% in the same period a year earlier.
تُظهٍر الإحصاءات الشهريّة لوزارة المال اللبنانيّة تراجعاً سنويّاً بحوالي 54.39 مليون د.أ. في تحويلات الخزينة إلى شركة كهرباء لبنان إلى 294 مليار ل.ل. (195.0 مليون د.أ.) خلال فترة الشهرين الأوّلين من العام 2020، مقابِل 376 مليار ل.ل. (249.4 مليون د.أ.) في الفترة ذاتها من العام السابق. يُنسَب هذا التراجع إلى إنخفاض فاتورة المدفوعات لقاء شراء الغاز والوقود من مؤسَّسة البترول الكويتيّة وشركة سوناطراك الجزائريّة بنسبة 21.9% على أساسٍ سنويٍّ إلى 293 مليار ل.ل. (194.4 مليون د.أ.) في ظلّ تراجع كميّات الفيول المستوردة بنسبة 14.2% على أساسٍ سنويٍّ.
يجدر الذكر أنّ حصّة التحويلات إلى شركة كهرباء لبنان قد تراجعت إلى 8.79% من إجمالي النفقات الأوّليّة للحكومة في الشهرين الأوّلين من العام 2020، مقابِل حصّة 13.17% في الفترة الموازية من العام السابق.
