Cement deliveries, the coincident indicator of construction activity, fell by 17.07% during the month of March 2020 to 97,490 tons, down from 117,561 tons a month earlier. On an annual basis, cement deliveries plunged by 55.69% to 300,244 tons in the first quarter in 2020 in comparison with 677,629 tons in the same quarter last year.
Cement deliveries registered a negative compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.22% over the Q1 2013 – Q1 2020 period, mirroring the lackluster activity of Lebanon’s construction sector amidst the pale economic situation.
سَجَّلَت تسليمات الإسمنت، والتي تشكِّل مؤشِّراً رئيسيّاً للنشاط العقاري، إنخفاضاً بنسبة 17.07% خلال الشهر الثالث من العام 2020 إلى 97،490 طن، مقابِل 117،561 طن في الشهر الذي سبقه. كذلك على صعيدٍ سنويٍّ، فقد تراجعت تسليمات الإسمنت بنسبة 55.69% إلى 300،244 طن في الفصل الأوّل من العام 2020 مقارنةً ب677،629 طن في الفصل الأوّل من العام 2019.
يُظهِر البيان أعلاه أنّ نسبة النموّ السنوي المركَّب (Compounded Annual Growth Rate) لتسليمات الإسمنت كانت سلبيّةً عند 17.22% خلال الفترة الممتدّة بين آذارم 2013 وآذار 2020، ما يَعكس ضعفاً في ديناميكيّة قطاع البناء في ظلّ الركود الإقتصادي الذي تشهده البلاد.
