The Lebanese Ministry of Finance (MOF) published its monthly “Public Finance Monitor”, which included, among others, government transfers to Electricité Du Liban (EDL), revealing some $283.25 million annual contraction in the amounts transferred to LBP 654 billion ($433.8 million) in the first half of the current year, down from LBP 1,081 billion ($717.1 million) during that same period last year. This owes to the 39.7% y-o-y drop in the value of gas and fuel purchases from KPC and Sonatrach to LBP 651 billion ($431.8 million) as a result of the significant drop in oil prices.
It is worth noting that the amounts transferred to EDL constituted 7.90% of the government’s total primary expenditures during the first half of this year, compared to a higher proportion of 13.17% in the same period a year earlier.
تُظهٍر الإحصاءات الشهريّة لوزارة المال اللبنانيّة إنخفاضاً سنويّاً بحوالي 283.25 مليون د.أ. في تحويلات الخزينة إلى شركة كهرباء لبنان إلى 654 مليار ل.ل. (433.8 مليون د.أ.) خلال النصف الأوّل من العام 2020، مقابِل 1،081 مليار ل.ل. (717.1 مليون د.أ.) في الفترة ذاتها من العام السابق. يُنسَب هذا التراجع إلى إنخفاض فاتورة المدفوعات لقاء شراء الغاز والوقود من مؤسَّسة البترول الكويتيّة وشركة سوناطراك الجزائريّة بنسبة 39.7% على أساسٍ سنويٍّ إلى 651 مليار ل.ل. (431.8 مليون د.أ.). نتيجة تدهور أسعار النفط عالميّاً.
يجدر الذكر أنّ حصّة التحويلات إلى شركة كهرباء لبنان قد تراجعت إلى 7.90% من إجمالي النفقات الأوّليّة للحكومة مع نهاية شهر حزيران 2020، مقابِل حصّة 13.17% في الفترة الموازية من العام السابق.
