According to a press release issued by BLOM Bank on October 23, 2020, the Bank has applied for the withdrawal of its GDRs from both the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange effective as of November 24, 2020. Said decision came in light of the thin trading volumes compared to the costs and administrative burden of maintaining the listing on both stock exchanges. In addition, the press release mentioned that Lebanon is undergoing severe financial, economic and fiscal crises that had negative repercussions on Lebanese Banks. Furthermore, the press release considered the high level of uncertainties for the bank and its shareholders as a result of the ongoing crises to be incompatible with the maintenance of the listing of the GDRs on the London and Luxembourg stock exchanges. The bank stated that the GDRs will continue to be listed and traded on the Beirut Stock Exchange and will remain outstanding after the delisting from the Luxembourg and London stock exchanges.
