The Lebanese Ministry of Finance (MOF) published its monthly snapshot on government transfers to Electricité Du Liban (EDL), revealing a $161.19 million annual decrease in the amounts transferred to LBP 43 billion ($28.5 million) during the month of January 2021, down from LBP 286 billion ($189.7 million) in January 2020. This owes to the 84.9% yearly drop in the value of gas and fuel purchases from KPC and Sonatrach to LBP 43 billion ($28.5 million).

It is worth noting that the amounts transferred to EDL constituted 3.07% of the government’s total primary expenditures in January 2021, compared to 14.08% in January 2020.

تُظهٍر الإحصاءات الشهريّة لوزارة المال اللبنانيّة إنخفاضاً سنويّاً بحوالي 161.19 مليون د.أ. في تحويلات الخزينة إلى شركة كهرباء لبنان خلال الشهر الأوّل من العام 2021 إلى 43 مليار ل.ل. (28.5 مليون د.أ.) مقارنةً ب286 مليار ل.ل. (189.7 مليون د.أ.) في الشهر نفسه من العام 2020. يُنسَب هذا التراجع إلى إنخفاض فاتورة المدفوعات لقاء شراء الغاز والوقود من مؤسَّسة البترول الكويتيّة وشركة سوناطراك الجزائريّة بنسبة 84.9% على أساسٍ سنويٍّ إلى 43 مليار ل.ل. (28.5 مليون د.أ.).

يجدر الذكر أنّ حصّة التحويلات إلى شركة كهرباء لبنان قد تراجعت إلى 3.07% من إجمالي نفقات الحكومة الأوّليّة في الشهر الأوّل من العام 2021، مقابِل حصّة 14.08% في الشهر نفسه من العام السابق.
