Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) recently released its year 2022 “Graduate Employability Rankings” in which it ranks 550 universities in the world according to a set of weighted criteria, namely, graduate employment rate (10%), employer reputation (30%), partnerships with employers per faculty (25%), employer/student connections (10%), and alumni outcomes (25%). Four US universities occupied the top-five positions with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) coming in first with a score of 100, followed by Stanford University with a score of 99.3, the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) which scored 99.1, and Harvard University which came 5th with a score of 97.7. The University of Sydney (Australia) was the only non-US university that made it to the top 5 list, ranking 4th with a score of 98.1.
On a regional level, The American University in Cairo (Egypt) topped the QS Graduate Employability Rankings for the year 2022 with an international rank of 201-250, followed by the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals – Saudi Arabia (international rank: 251-300) and the Ain Shams University – Egypt (international rank: 301-500).
Locally, four universities made it to the list with the American University of Beirut (AUB) coming in first with an overall score of 64.9 and an international rank of 73. Moreover, the Lebanese American University (LAU) entered for the fourth consecutive time the list of the top 550 universities in the world in terms of graduate employability with an international rank of 251-300, followed by the Lebanese University (LU) entering the list for the first time with an international rank of 301-500 and Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) (second time on the list) with an international rank of 301-500. The AUB outperformed both LAU and USJ when it comes to “Graduate Employment Rate” with a score of 98.8 (compared to 77.9 for LAU and 91.6 for USJ), in addition to scoring higher than LAU in the “Employer-Student Connections” (71.0 compared to 66.3) and higher than the Lebanese University and USJ in terms of “Employer Reputation” (47.9 compared to 45.4 and 26.0).
أصدرت مؤسّسة QS مؤخّراً تصنيفها للجامعات حول العالم بحسب نسب توظيف المتخرِّجين للعام 2022 والتي تصنّف من خلاله 550 جامعة في العالم وفقاً لمجموعة من المعايير المثقّلة ألا وهي نسبة توظيف المتخرِّجين (10%)، سمعة أصحاب العمل (30%)، الشراكات مع أصحاب العمل (25%)، نسبة التواصل بين أرباب العمل والطلاّب (10%)، ونجاحات الخرِّيجين في سوق العمل (25%). وقد أتت أربعة جامعات أميركيّة على قائمة أفضل خمس جامعات بحيث إحتلّ معهد ماساتشوسيتس للتكنولوجيا (MIT) المركز الأول بنتيجة 100، تبعتهه جامعة ستانفورد بنتيجة 99.3، وجامعة كاليفورنيا لوس أنجلوس (UCLA) بنتيجة 99.1، وجامعة هارفارد التي أتت في المركز الخامس بنتيجة 97.7. وقد تمكنّت جامعة سيدني (أُستراليا) من إختراق لائحة أفضل خمس جامعات في العالم كالجامعة الوحيدة الغير أميركيّة حيث أتت في المركز الرابع عالميّاً بنتيجة 98.1.
وعلى صعيدٍ إقليميٍّ، أتت الجامعة الأميركيّة في القاهرة - مصر على عرش قائمة QS لأفضل الجامعات على صعيد المتخرِّجين للعام 2022 محتلّةً المرتبة ما بين 201 و250 في العالم، تبعتها جامعة الملك فهد للبترول والمعادن – المملكة العربيّة السعوديّة (تصنيف عالمي: 251-300) وجامعة عين شمس في مصر (تصنيف عالمي: 301-500).
محلّياً، برزت أسماء أربعة جامعات لبنانيّة على لائحة QS حيث جائت الجامعة الأميركيّة في بيروت في الصدارة وفي المركز ال73 عالميّاً بنتيجة 64.9 في مؤشّر توظيف المتخرِّجين للعام 2022. أيضاً على الصعيد المحلّي، أتت الجامعة اللبنانيّة الأميركيّة للمرّة الرابعة على التوالي على لائحة الجامعات ال550 الأفضل عالميّاً على صعيد توظيف المتخرِّجين مُحتلةً موقعاً في المراتب المُمتدّة بين 251 و300، تلتها الجامعة اللبنانيّة التّي دخلت اللائحة للمرّة الأولى، محتلّةً موقعاً في المراتب المُمتدّة بين 301-500 وجامعة القدّيس يوسف (للمرّة الثانية في المؤشّر) محتّلةً موقعاً في المراتب الممتدّة بين 301-500. لقد تفوّقت الجامعة الأميركيّة في بيروت على الجامعة اللبنانيّة الأميركيّة وعلى جامعة القدّيس يوسف من حيث "نسبة توظيف المتخرِّجين" بنتيجة 98.8 (مقارنةّ ب77.9 للجامعة اللبنانيّة الأميركيّة وب91.6 لجامعة القدّيس يوسف)، إضافةً إلى تسجيل نتيجة أفضل من الجامعة اللبنانيّة الأميركيّة لجهة معيار "نسبة التواصل بين أرباب العمل والطلاّب" (71.0 مقارنةً ب66.3) وتسجيل نتيجة أفضل من الجامعة اللبنانيّة وجامعة القدّيس يوسف في معيار "سمعة أصحاب العمل" (47.9 مقارنةً ب45.4 و26.0).
