The Lebanese financial sector’s net foreign assets narrowed by $402.3 million in May of the current year in comparison with contractions of $229.4 million in April, $518.5 million in March and $601.8 million in February. May’s figure can be attributed to a $285.8 million drop in the net foreign assets of the Central Bank, coupled with some $116.5 million decrease in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions. On a cumulative basis, the financial sector’s net foreign assets plunged by $2,105.1 million during the first five months of the year 2022 in comparison with some $1,573.9 million drop in the same period in 2021. This cumulative drop owes to a $2,064.9 million contraction in the net foreign assets of the Central Bank, coupled with a $40.2 million decrease in the net foreign assets of banks & financial institutions.
تراجع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى القطاع المالي اللبناني بمبلغ قدره 402.3 مليون د.أ. خلال الشهر الخامس من العام 2022 مقابل إنخفاض بلغ 229.4 مليون د.أ. في شهر نيسان وتراجع بلغ 518.5 مليون د.أ. في شهر آذار وإنخفاض بلغ 601.8 مليون د.أ. في شهر شباط. تأتي أرقام شهر أيّار نتيجة إنخفاض صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى مصرف لبنان بقيمة 285.8 مليون د.أ. ترافقاً مع تدنّي صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسَّسات الماليّة بمبلغٍ قدره 116.5 مليون د.أ. كذلك على صعيدٍ تراكميٍّ، فقد تقلّص صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى القطاع المالي اللبناني بحوالي 2،105.1 مليون د.أ. خلال الأشهر الخمسة الأولى من العام 2022 مقارنةً بإنخفاض بلغ 1،573.9 مليون د.أ. في الفترة ذاتها من العام 2021. يعزى الإنخفاض المذكور إلى تراجُع صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى مصرف لبنان بمبلغٍ قدره 2،064.9 مليون د.أ. وتدنّي صافي الموجودات الخارجيّة لدى المصارف والمؤسَّسات الماليّة بمبلغ قدره 40.2 مليون د.أ.
